Copy Your Own Clothes - How to Clone Your Perfect Wardrobe & Learn Pattern Adaption & Clothing Alterations

Copy Your Own Clothes - How to Clone Your Perfect Wardrobe & Learn Pattern Adaption & Clothing Alterations

This is a Full Day CourseClone

Do you have the perfect dress, t-shirt, trousers or skirt – but can’t buy it anywhere – then learn how to duplicate your clothes and remake them in whatever fabric you want to.

We created this class because everyone has that special garment that they bought years ago, it fits you really well, never goes out of fashion but is soon doomed to fall apart and you wish that you had bought four of them. This class will teach you how to make a copy of your favourites.

There are two versions of this class – please advise us upon booking about which is of more interest to you:

                Woven non-stretch fabrics

                Jersey – stretch fabrics

Copy Your Clothes will take you from making a pattern from your existing garment, to sewing up your new one.

You will learn how to draft a pattern block from your existing clothes, how to transfer pattern details from your original garment such as darts, pockets and seam lines, how to mark up your pattern with all of the essentials such as notches, grain lines etc.,

We will then make a toile from your pattern block - which is then the perfect time to practise darts, pockets buttonholes & zips, if needed.

This class is suitable for beginners, but you should have some basic knowledge of how to use a sewing machine - contact us if you want to discuss your sewing skills beforehand.

Tracing or pattern paper is need for the pattern drafting, and calico for toile making - or these can be supplied for a small fee on the day.

Full Day Course - 10 am to 4 pm, snacks and refreshments provided, but not lunch.

£80.00
